Love the place you live: Gravelly Point

Taking Design Moms challenge to love the place you live Mr. Jones and I loaded up the kids and the bikes and headed to Gravelly Point on Saturday afternoon. Part of the National Park system, Gravelly Point is located in Arlington, VA with lots of green space, parallel to the Potomac River, and bike/running trails. The best part is that the main entrance to the park is situated right next to the airport. Most folks camp out with blankets and snacks and literally watch the plans take off and land. It's quite an exhilarating experience. On the one hand it's pretty cool to see the planes so close up. On the other it's a little unnerving to see the planes so close up. As this was our first time ever going to the park I was very anxious watching those planes come in but was happy that my children thought the experience extremely cool which calmed by nerves. The weather was perfect and all four of us had a great time. Despite the fact that Mr. Jones blew a tire on his bike literally 5 minutes after we got there. It's always something right?

Standing under a bridge along the path
During our break under the bridge Mr. Jones and the kids noticed some random nuts and bolts. This is how many they gathered. I have to say I was a little worried about standing under that bridge once the next train rolled through. I mean who is inspecting these tracks?

The belly of a plane. So close to our heads!
My babies! Having a good time.
